I Want Adventure In the Great Wide Somewhere

I am in New York City- the city of my dreams to visit Parsons the New School for Design, the school I will be attending to study fashion! I absolutely adore the city, and I never want to go back to Oklahoma.

Today, we went up the Rockefeller Center to see the skyscape. I have been here so many times, but actually haven't ever been up the Skydeck, so it was a nice treat! Except it was freeeeeeezing up there. The views were breathtaking though.

I cannot believe I will be living in one of the greatest cities in the world staring August. I really cannot believe it. I spent years dreaming to escape Oklahoma, and I finally achieved it. Do not ever let people tell you that you are unable to achieve your dreams: people have always told me I would end up attending the University of Oklahoma and doubted me, but I achieved my dream.

Oh, and today, I got accepted to Emory University...ahhahaha, I only applied just so I could prove to everyone that I am not one of those people that attend art schools that are academically challenged and can only make art. I can attend a prestigious university; I am merely choosing not to. I would much rather be at an art school - Parsons to be exact - and achieve all dreams I have ever dreamt.

Tomorrow, I am touring Parsons, getting my housing sorted out, and attending an exclusive reception at night. I am beyondddd excited! My life is so perfect right now.

Cheers!

Stars, Hide Your Fires

It is Spring Break still, and I haven't done much at all except hang out with my cousin and little brother. Before the car crash, it used to be an entourage of my brother, three cousins, and I roaming and having so much fun where ever we were, but all we do now - two years later - is pretty much watch movies and eat. Here are our favorite things to eat whenever she comes to visit Oklahoma (we don't have very many choices).

These are Belgium waffles from a cafĂ© here called All About Cha. They are heaven. Really, they are.

Before...

During...

After!

My favourite drink...White Mocha Green Freddo!

And if you have yet to try Parisian Macarons, you have not lived... When I visit Paris, these are all I will eat!!

Awake My Soul

Perhaps it is because I may be a tad bit anti-social, but I love going on long drives by myself. It gives me a lot of thinking time or time to not think at all by turning up the music volume and screeching along to my indie bands as loud as I desire without being judged!

These are some of my most favorite bands, with the exception of Coldplay! I cannot believe I forgot to snap a photo of Coldplay - I have been such a swooned fan for years. Anyway, I mostly listen to British rock, because I mean, come on, the UK harbors and always have harbored some of the greatest musicians in history. People I am around in Oklahoma really don't listen to the same music as me...so all of my friends just shake their heads when they hear me obsess over people like Alex Turner and Chris Martin...It is my absolute dream to attend my favorite bands' shows, and I plan on going to aplenty when I move to NYC!

Sigh No More

I am in Wichita, Kansas to visit my cousin. I drove here from Oklahoma City for the first time by myself on the 15th - it was the 2nd anniversary of the worst day of my life. But let us not dwell on that much.

We went to the zoo yesterday, and I swear, we would be the only 19-year-olds to go to the zoo for fun!

I love animals. All animals. That is why I became a vegetarian after reading E.B. White's Charlotte's Web at the age of 10. I love how you can see glimpses of humanity within all of these animals - you cannot deny that they do have a soul once you really observe them. All pet owners will tell you that each dog or cat or hamster has a personality and they are so much like us.

These creatures, however, are scientifically closer to us than dogs or cats; therefore, they are more intelligent. I felt as if these gorillas knew that they were trapped within a zoo for the entertainment and pleasure for us, humans. They looked sad. And bored. Tis particular gorilla actually hit the glass window with its fist at a lady sitting right at the front. If the glass had not been there, the lady would have been knocked out. It reminded me horribly of the movie "Rise of the Planet of the Apes".

I am aware and understand that zoos are established for humans to learn more about creatures whom we share this Earth with, but I cannot help but feel like it isn't fair. Why do humans rule over all of these animas - that are horribly like us - and treat them so unequally? We breed them to eat, to become our designer bags and shoes, and kill them for our desires. I just don't understand. My life's goal is to become a vegan, and keep from using any leather or fur, and I do plan on achieving it.

These shoes I probably cannot wear again...I was atop an amusement park ride with my cousin, and it was so dizzying, I puked while the ride was in full motion! My vomit went all over the ground, my shoes, and legs, soooo goodbye my beautiful oxfords. Wah.

"Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself."

There's Absolutely Nothing for Us Here

She is one of the pretties people I know; yet, she is amongst the most self-conscious! I cannot fathom why - what would I not give to look like her! Except height, haha, I like my height (she is like 5'3 maybe?).

Make A Wish That Weighs A Tonne

I hope she does not mind me posting her photos on here, but this is some of my most recent set of photographs. I hope I am improving?

Up With the Birds

This is a photoshoot I had with one of my closest friends a few months back. I used to strictly take photos of inanimate objects, but I am getting quite into photographing people. It's fun. Try your hand at it - it allows you to completely change your perspective in life and forces you to see what others cannot.

I go into these woods behind my house pretty often - it is my favorite place around here. It is just so secluded, quiet, and lonely; yet, I enjoy it so much. I fancy taking a break from everyone and taking my dogs for a walk into these woods.

And I will forever be indebted to this girl, for she is the first person that let me take photos of her!
