What I love about New York:
Never having to get off of this tiny island if I want to--there is everything I could ever want here.
FOOOOOOOD!!! There are cutesy and delish ethnic restaurants and pastry/coffee shops in every corner...
Feeling like I can do anything.
Walking through the city listening to my iPod, and feeling like I am in a movie.
Living amongst celebrities (Julia Stiles is my neighbor).
Wearing whatever the hell I want.
Being around so many talented people.
Being around so many different cultures--I learn something new about the world every day!
Taking a walk whenever I feel stressed and feeling so much better afterwards.
Friendly strangers.
Being around fashionable people.
The opportunities.
Walking everywhere and loosing weight.
Strolling through the city and nonchalantly seeing world-famous landmarks.
The fast-paced life and not wasting time.
The feeling of being part of something greater than myself.
Getting out of class and going shopping on 5th Avenue right afterwards.
Shopping in SoHo.
Big events always happen in New York.
Central Park.
Walking across Brooklyn bridge at night.
Such rich history.
Street performers and musicians everywhere.
What I love about Oklahoma:
Fields that stretch on forever.
Open skies.
Stargazing at night.
My best friend.
Going camping with my family and roasting marshmallows and sweet potatoes.
My woods.
Sitting on my roof.
My queen sized, memory foam, 4-poster bed.
My glass shower and jacuzzi tub.
My family and DOGGIES!!!!!!!
Korean food made by my mommy.
The serenity.
Doing absolutely nothing.
Easy life.
I absolutely adore New York and I am having the time of my life, but I miss home. I suppose I have lived in Oklahoma for far too long to leave it cold turkey. I would NEVER EVER EVER live there again, but Thanksgiving cannot come soon enough, when I will visit! This is just so ironic because I absolutely hated the place, but now that I am out, I am appreciating it a bit more...

Time of Your Life
As the school year progresses, I have been thinking more and more about what I want to major in and what I want to do for the rest of my life even more so than I have been. The truth is: I haven't a clue. All I know is that I want to be in fashion, but there are so many different careers in fashion--not just design! I have a bit more to figure it all out...but the great thing about this city is that it is one of the greatest fashion capitols of the world. With Fashion's Night Out, New York Fashion Week, and street styles of people who are so bold and daring...it is my favorite thing of New York.
My Fashion's Night Out was great--my friends and I went into Marc Jacobs's boutique and actually saw him! I was literally right next to the genius, but he left before I could get a photo with him ;(
Fashion Week was fantastic for a first timer!! Getting practically swarmed at by photographers is really something I can get used to...hahahha. I wore the heel less Jeffrey Campbells, and I fell down quite a bit and had bloody knees by the end of the night...but I ended up getting a lot of photos taken of me and am up on some websites, so it was worth the pain! Beauty is pain, after all...and you know how the world thinks New Yorkers are rude? I cannot understand that, even strangers on the streets all have been so kind. A woman on the street gave me a bunch of band-aides and tissues after seeing my bloody knees! That's not rudeness.
Oh, so fashionable.
Random person with the Prada sunnies I so want!!!

This is my feet and name on the Wall Street Journal!!! Ahhhh
And this is my feet on ABC news :)

Home Is Where the Heart Is
Apologies for not updating as of late...I've been super duper busy with everything. But I love it. I love being busy and productive and working towards something greater than anything I have ever done. Moving to New York City was the best thing I have ever done. This is the best place for everyone who wants to become someone. Whenever I am solitarily walking the streets of this city whilst listening to my iPod, I get this surreal feeling like I am invincible! It is really inexplainable and I really do feel like I can do anything.
The workload at Parsons is tough...but I know I can get through it. I love the people here--I never had much in common with my friends back in Oklahoma, but it's like I found a place I belong. And Lord knows I did not belong in Oklahoma.
I walked to Central Park one day to sketch for homework...and it was indescribably lovely...I love Central Park. I just wish it was closer to where my dorm is! I have been mesmerized with this bridge ever since I saw it in the movie Home Alone: Lost in New York, and it was wonderful to just sit in front of it and sketch.
This was the first time I have seen a protest in NYC! And it was for a cause I certainly agree with.
I love this city. It feels like home.

I live close to Union Square, and the best farmers market opens on the weekends. I bought this bunch of lavender from Britain from the market and I can't wait to make tea with it! I've been quite obsessed with the color lavender lately.

Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made of
I am finallllllly here! I don't know why I was so frightened before, because all I feel now is absolute elation and excitement. I am so blessed to live out my dreams.
I love wearing these sequin shorts! I got so many compliments from random strangers because of them, which made me feel even more like a New Yorker, ahhhh. But walking so many miles in heels gave me horrible blisters, so I had to change out of my Jeffrey Campbell wedges and buy an oxford at H&M to ease the pain! First NYC lesson learned!
My momma and I at the Metropolitan Museum of Art! We went to the Schiaparelli and Prada exhibition...such fabulosity...

It was hardcore raining today, and it was surprisingly lovely. Everything feels so surreal.

Your Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes
Last night, I crawled out my second story window onto my roof and watched the perseid meteor shower for hours. While I was just lying up there--with nothing but my iPod and the wondrous heavens above--I wished for so many things on so many shooting stars. (This was actually on my bucket list, so I'm glad I got to cross it off!) It was so serene and lovely, I can hardly describe it with justice. While I was wishing after wishing after wishing, I've had a re-realization that I'm really greedy. I want so many things out of my life, it's unreal. I remember one of the things I used to wish for was to move to New York City, and I don't know how this happened, but that dream is coming true. But now, I am absolutely frightened down to my bones. I don't know why, because it's the first step to my ultimate dream--everything is going according to my plans. I guess I am not as brave as I led myself to believe.

Road Runner
My best and I went on a mini road trip on Route 66 to a restaurant called Pops today, and on our way back, we stumbled across the most secluded and pretty little lake in the middle of nowhere! Spontaneous photoshoots are the absolute best.

Bows and Pearls
This collar is one of my absolute favorite things to wear! I can literally pair it up with anything, so I actually have to stop myself from wearing it all the time. The neck bow is also something I am obsessed with, you'll see me often wearing it! This is the outfit I put on this morning before I had to change the top due to it being 105 degrees! It has been at least 100 degrees every day this summer and I am so sick of Oklahoma's weather. I hate hot weather. Anyway, sorry for the cruddy camera quality. I am REALLY bad at self photos with my Nikon, these were taken on my phone.

All We Want Is Flight
Had another photo shoot today. It was 113 degrees and absolute hell. Good thing my model doesn't look like she's dying in the photos, because we both certainly were!!!

Sunny Afternoon
This cornfield is right in front of my house, and it is just the prettiest thing late, sunny afternoons. I went inside the corn stocks once, and it was a mini-adventure--so easy to get lost, so wondrous, and so gorgeous! Yeah, it doesn't take much to entertain me...I just love discovering and exploring new places.

Middle Distance Runner
These following photos were also taken by Lisa Lam, and edited by me.
My arms look so awkward like a gorilla hahahah but I need a photo up without me propping an arm up because it would be awkward, and I am just awkward.

Makes My Head Pirouette
These photos are all taken by Lisa Lam, and edited by me. This was actually the first time I had a shoot out and about in the streets--usually I go to god forsaken, unknown, the most secluded places to take photos! It was a nice change.
I feel like this is the first legitimate outfit post....eeep.
I'm so in love with the heel less Jeffrey Campbells...They're not as hard to walk in as you would think too. I just ordered another one in fuchsia! Couldn't help myself...it was 50% off and the last size left was a size 6! Which never happens, so I was meant to have them...hahaha
